They all went to the same church growing up, her grandfather's church, Joy Fellowship Worship Center. Destiny was besties with Dominic's younger siblings and he was really close with Destiny's older brothers.

While Destiny's family was living in Colonial Heights VA, Dominic's step mom, Natalie, babysat Destiny and her brother everyday after school. So while they were in the same bubble of people they were in completely different universes at the same time.

Didn't have anything to do? Go to Joel's! It's a Thursday evening? Go to Joel's! Wanted to have a movie night? Go to Joel's... you get it.

The hangout crew was primarily her family.. but they were the best gang and they had the greatest times at Joel's house. Dominic and Destiny didn't necessarily grow closer together at this point though. She found him hilarious, but he was still only close with her brothers. As time went by Destiny had started to fancy Dominic. Just a little bit...

The year 2021 was just around the corner, and Destiny's family went on their vacation to the Dominican Republic for New Year's! Dominic being close with her brothers was invited on this trip.

The New Year's party began and they all had a great time! Destiny was happy that he was there, celebrating with them. The countdown starts, midnight comes, and fireworks go off. Dominic tapped Destiny on the shoulder to get her attention. Destiny turned around and Dominic surprised her with a kiss.

Dominic the few weeks prior had no option but to become smitten by Destiny. She was effortlessly just that cute and adorable, it became impossible to resist. He denied his feelings for Destiny, that is, until he got conformation from a little birdy that she indeed liked him too.

To the both of them, it was merely a notion that would never materialize...
